Kid's
B.A.S.E. staff are committed to care for children by
encouraging an environment that promotes respect, honesty,
and responsibility. We will strive to be helpful, courteous,
and provide you with open communication that supports a
great place for kids!

Kathleen Michael
Founder and Executive Director
Duties: Program Administration,
Funding, Facilities, Policies,
Long-term Program Development,
Public Relations

Kathleen has been in the Early Childhood
Education field for 25 years and founded the
Kid’s B.A.S.E. organization in 1993, now
celebration 15 years of service to the
community! Besides working at Kid’s B.A.S.E.,
Kathleen is a strong advocate for children and
participates in a variety of regional and
state-wide committees to enhance the
availability and quality in children and youth
programs. She is married, has two boys, 2 dogs,
2 cats, and enjoys cooking, hiking, road trips,
gardening, and loves to laugh. |

Heather Osborn
Curriculum Director
Duties: Daily Program Management, Curriculum Development, Parent &
Staff Communications
|
Heather began her career
working with children as a Classroom Instructor
at Kid’s B.A.S.E. in 1996. Since then, she has
worked up to the position of Curriculum Director
being responsible for working with staff and
children in developing curriculum and daily
activities that makes our program a fun, safe
place to be for kids. She is available each
afternoon to address your questions, comments,
or concerns to ensure your family’s experience
at our program is a positive one. She is
married, has 3 boys and 1 girl, (including
triplets!), enjoys Nascar, riding quads, and
camping. |

Cindy Crawford
Senior Lead Teacher and
Administrative Assistant
Duties: Classroom 9, plan and implement children’s activities, front
desk receptionist
|
Cindy also began working at Kid’s B.A.S.E. in
1996 and is currently a Senior Lead Teacher and
assists in receptionist duties at the front
desk. Cindy has an amazing memory and is well
known for her ability to keep parents, children,
and staff informed of important dates,
information and upcoming events. If you ever
need assistance, please don’t hesitate to ask.
Cindy will always be there to help you! She is
married, has 3 boys, enjoys camping, being with
friends and family, Nascar, and is an avid Kasey
Kahne fan. |

Caren Wiltse
Lead Teacher and Food Service
Coordinator
Duties: Classroom 10, plan and
implement children’s activities,
develop and implement program menu
|
Caren began working for Kid’s B.A.S.E. as a Lead
Teacher in 1998. She then took an extended
leave of absence to take care of her children at
home while her husband worked out of state. She
recently returned to take on the dual role of
Lead Teacher and Food Service Coordinator.
Caren also works in food service at the Enumclaw
High School during the day. Caren is best known
for her common sense approach in working with
children and for her great sense of humor.
Wherever Caren is, there is bound to be laughter
and a smile or two. She is married, has 3 boys,
enjoys scrapbooking and playing Bunco. |

Gloria Johnson
Lead Teacher and Health
Coordinator
Duties: Classroom 9, plan &
implement children’s activities

Gloria has been with Kid’s B.A.S.E. since 2004 working
as a Lead Instructor. Gloria has a nursing
background and is also a certified Montessori
teacher. She is best known for her patience and
listening skills and her love of reading.
Gloria also works as a caregiver for a special
needs child during the day. Her kind
personality and knowledge of children makes her
a naturally talented teacher. Gloria is
married, has 3 children, loves reading, and is
an active member of her church. |

Danielle Dvorak
Classroom Assistant and Outdoor
Activity Planner
Duties: Classroom assistant room
10; assist in implementing
curriculum, monitor children, and
plan outdoor activities

Danielle is one of our newest staff members coming
aboard in 2007 working as a classroom
assistant. Danielle was a Running Start student
last school-year and is a recent graduate of
Enumclaw High School. When she isn’t at Kid’s
B.A.S.E., she works as a barista. Danielle is
best known for her bright smile and playful
spirit as the kids (and staff) are naturally
drawn to her fun personality. Danielle plans on
attending college and becoming an events
planner. On her spare time she loves to be with
her family and friends, participate in her
church community, play guitar, write songs, work
out, and likes to laugh. |

Melanie Johnson
Classroom Assistant and Outdoor
Activity Planner
Duties: Classroom assistant room 9;
assist in implementing curriculum,
monitor children, and plan outdoor
activities

Melanie began working at Kid’s B.A.S.E. in the
spring of 2006 as a pre-school classroom
assistant for our pilot preschool program.
Since then, Melanie has transitioned to the
position of classroom assistant for our after
school program. Melanie is a graduate of
Enumclaw High School and is currently studying
Early Childhood Education while attending Green
River Community College. She is also
studying American Sign Language. Melanie is known for
her one-on-one approach with kids and for her
knowledge and experience in working with special
needs children. During the summer, she works
as a therapeutic assistant with special needs kids at Camp Berachah.
Melanie loves to spend time with her family,
play soccer, and rides horses. |
